Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sales and Marketing Manager to drive tourism growth and promote visitor engagement. The ideal candidate will have experience in the tourism industry or with a Destination Marketing Organization (DMO). This role requires creativity, technical proficiency, and a passion for building strong community and industry relationships.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to increase visitor traffic.
Build and maintain strong relationships with local restaurants, hotels, and other tourism partners to enhance tourism initiatives.
Develop partnership opportunities and promotions to strengthen tourism efforts.
Create and share engaging content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and others, to promote events, retail opportunities, family activities, and tourism updates.
Maintain and update the Grenada Tourism website with relevant content about events, dining, lodging, and local attractions.
Create and adapt advertisements as needed for local and regional publications.
Maintain and update the visitor guide with current content, ensuring appealing design and accurate information.
Monitor and maintain an adequate supply of promotional items for distribution at events and in welcome bags.
Manage and maintain an organized inventory of advertising content, including photos, videos, and digital assets.
Prepare and present sales and marketing activity reports using Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, and other data sources.
Collect and record economic impact data from sponsored events in Excel spreadsheets and create summary documents.
Collaborate with industry partners such as the Mississippi Tourism Association, the Southeast Tourism Society, and Visit Mississippi.
Attend meetings and conferences to build partnerships and stay current with industry trends.
Respond to inquiries from advertisements, phone calls, and online requests.
Attend sponsored tournaments and events to represent Grenada Tourism.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of all tourism assets in the area and effectively communicate their unique attributes.
Education, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
Minimum of two years of sales and marketing experience, preferably in tourism or with a DMO.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proper grammar and English usage.
Proficiency with graphic design and multimedia content creation, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and related tools.
Knowledge of AI and ChatGPT and related apps used in the tourism industry
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Familiarity with Google Workspace, including Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Google Drive.
Experience with Dropbox for document storage and management.
Ability to set up and manage Zoom meetings.
Strong organizational and project management abilities, with the capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment
Primarily indoor, climate-controlled environment with occasional outdoor work at festivals and events.
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and perform physical tasks as needed.
Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.
